Dr. James Skon

Dr. James Skon, the Department Chair of Computer Science, started his professional career in 1978 as a part owner of Digitcomp Systems. He served in a variety of roles at Ohio State University until 1982 when he began teaching at MVNU. His education includes a B.A. in Computer Science from MVNC, a M.S. in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from Ohio State University. Dr. Robert Kasper

Dr. Robert Kasper has an A.B. in Computer Science from Cornell University, an M.S. in Computer and Communication Science from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in Computer and Communication Science from the University of Michigan. His professional experience includes his time as a research scientist and lecturer at universities from California to Ohio. Over the years, he has taught in the departments of Computer Science and Linguistics. Read More

The MVNU Experience

The goal of the MVNU Computer Science Department is to provide students with a cutting-edge learning environment in order to prepare them for a career in software development, database administration, or network management. Students with this degree will participate in a variety of classes from every area of computer science and will also complete a senior practicum that will highlight the skills they have learned.
