MVNU has launched an Engineering degree program!

Engineering is a rewarding discipline with a variety of exciting occupational possibilities. It is also among the highest paying career fields. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Electrical Engineers earn a median salary of more than $84,000 and Mechanical Engineers earn more than $78,000. Professor David Winyard

Professor David Winyard, Associate Professor of Engineering, has worked as an engineer for thirty-seven years. His extensive experience includes twenty-two years at the Naval Surface Warfare Center and another fifteen years at the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). In 2012, he retired from being a full-time engineer in order to pursue a Ph.D. at Virginia Tech. He is a member of the American Scientific Association (ASA). Read More

Dr. Richard Sutherland

Dr. Richard Sutherland, Dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences, earned his Ph.D. in Physics at The Ohio State University, and served as Chief Scientist for the Advanced Systems and Applied Technology Division for the Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). He holds more than 30 U.S. patents and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America, and SPIE-The International Society of Optics and Photonics. Read More
