Christian Education

Designed for students with a passionate love for Christ, a Christian Education degree has everything necessary to adequately prepare students for their chosen age-group ministry. MVNU's Christian Education program is appropriate for students of any denomination. The majors provides biblical, theological, and philosophical foundations in Christian living while preparing those pursuing a career in educational ministry. An emphasis is placed on both classical and contemporary Christian thought.

Dr. Jane Kennard

Dr. Jane Kennard Kennard is the Christian Education Program Chair and has a Ph.D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She is a member of the National Association of Professors of Christian Education and has published two chapters in "Discipling That Transforms" (John Auberman, ed., 2011 Warner Press). She has served over 15 years in educational church ministries. Read More

The MVNU Experience

Our Christian Education program at MVNU emphasizes both classical and the contemporary religious thought through the best of academic training and practical experience. All of our faculty have served in local church ministry positions and continue to be actively involved in the church. Students will be effectively equipped for a variety of church ministry positions.

Program Distinctives
  • Learning abroad – students are offered opportunities to travel to Turkey and Greece and to the Holy Land, as well as to South American and the United Kingdom
  • Practical experience – students regularly engage in practicums and other ministry opportunities
  • Graduate studies preparation – courses that are cross-registered for graduate degree work are available to senior – level students
